The end-of-year tests known as the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, or PARCC, are administered to third- through eighth-graders in Illinois, testing them in reading and math based on Common Core standards. A composite score combines the results of the subject tests.
Composite scores for Durfee Magnet Elementary show about 4 percent met expectations and none exceeded them. Students whose results are in either category passed the tests and are considered prepared for the next grade level, college or work.
Another 14 percent approached expectations, 34 percent partially met expectations and 48 percent did not meet expectations. Students who scored in these categories are not ready for the next level of schooling, according to the test.
