Report: Okaw Valley spent $9,740 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Okaw Valley Community Unit School District 302 is up 5 percent from five years ago, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Moultrie County school district spent $9,309 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,740 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 548 to 487.

Okaw Valley's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
