Report: Sangamon Valley spent $9,986 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Sangamon Valley Community Unit School District 9 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Macon County school district spent $9,121 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,986 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 763 to 710.

Sangamon Valley's spending in 2016-17 was 23 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
