New cancellations, changes due to COVID-19

Cancellations and schedule changes due to the novel coronavirus continue throughout Central Illinois. The latest announcements are as follows:

According to The Pantagraph, there are new visitor restrictions for Advocate BroMenn Medical Center and Advocate Eureka Hospital. These hospitals also only have limited non-urgent outpatient appointments as well as certain elective procedures and surgeries. The hospitals’ dining rooms are closed and the only food available for purchase are prepared meals. 

Meanwhile, HSHS Illinois and Memorial Health Systems hospitals, such as Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital-Lincoln, HSHS St. Mary's Hospital-Decatur and Decatur Memorial Hospital, have prohibited visitors.

The OSF HealthCare Center for Health-Streator announced that classes, support groups and all other events will be rescheduled. OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center and Saint Francis Medical Center, as well as the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, have instituted new visitor restrictions. The Advocate BroMenn Health & Fitness Center is closed.

Among other facilities that have made changes to their operation is All About Eyes, which is closed. The Community Cancer Center is operating as normal with some visitor restrictions. The Commitment to Health Luncheon organized by the Community Health Care Clinic has been rescheduled to June 26 from its original date of April 24. 

Easter Seals Central Illinois’ therapy appointments are being held on a case-by-case basis and the Gailey Eye Clinics, along with Bloomington Eye Institute and Gailey Eye Surgery-Decatur, are closed. Livingston County Health Department has instituted some visitor restrictions and those 60 or older who need help and essential items should call 815-844-7174, Ext. 230.

Educational institutions, both public and private, have been closed until April 30 on command of Gov. J.B. Pritzker. McLean County has closed its Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts and the Bloomington Public Library. The McLean County Democrats have closed its headquarters.
