Eggs sold under the labels "Milo’s Poultry Farms" and "Tony’s Fresh Market" have been recalled in Illinois and other states due to potential salmonella contamination.

The recall was initiated after routine testing revealed the presence of salmonella in some batches of eggs. Consumers are advised to check their purchases and avoid consuming any eggs from these brands until further notice.

Salmonella infection can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms typically include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Health officials urge consumers who have purchased these eggs to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information on the outbreak, visit local health department websites or contact the stores where the eggs were bought.
